Our History - 20 MILE ATHLETIC CENTER

Our History

20 Mile Athletic Center was founded in 1995 as Parker School of Gymnastics at its original location on the corner of Clarke and Dransfeldt Road.  After an ownership change in 2009, PSG immediately began to update its equipment and expand its classes and programs.  Enrollment doubled in two years and PSG quickly outgrew its old facility.  A new location was identified in 2011 and after nearly two years of planning and design, the new building was nearly ready to open.

A merger between Parker School of Gymnastics and Alpha Gymnastics gave the combined operation a major boost in equipment, coaches and students just before the opening of the new training facility.  The new entity became 20 Mile Athletic Center, a name that honors our home community. “20 Mile” was the name of the early 1800’s stage coach station (and later a train stop) that was situated 20 miles from Denver’s Union Station, in the settlement that would later be called Parker.

The new 20 Mile Athletic Center facility opened its doors on February 1, 2013.  Presently we train over 800 students each week and coach Girls USAG, Girls Xcel and Boys USAG teams.  Our preschool classes are known to be fun as well as educational; our recreational classes celebrate success at every level; and each of our competitive teams is known for its strength and unique styleOur Boys Teams are among the largest and most awarded in the state, and our Girls USAG Team is one of the fastest growing Girls gymnastic programs in Colorado. Our goal is to train and coach each athlete to become the best gymnast they can be.
